SYNOPSIS
Librarian Sally Coles is a timid normal working woman in every sense of the word, she gets up at 8, commutes to her job, is intimidated by her manager, does the 9 to 5 shift, gets home and argues with her cheating boyfriend. She eats dinner alone – again.
However, every night at the stroke of midnight, she soaks her miseries into her one indulgence – she catches up on the ridiculous TV detective soap – Red Bull. There she sits, filling in the words, speaking to the screen, enjoying a reckless, daring life she could never have. Then one night… the screen answers back!
Samantha notices the clocks have stopped. Ryan “Red Bull” Banyon really is speaking to her. For ten minutes they talk, then the clocks slowly start back into motion.
The conversations continue, and gradually Red Bull persuades her to do with her problems what he would do. Want a promotion? Seduce the boss! Broke? Hold up a store! Want time off? Blackmail the manager! Want revenge on your boyfriend? “Bruise him – real hard”.
Eventually it all escalates totally out of control. The police are hammering at Sam’s door, there’s nowhere to go. But she escapes where they’ll never find her… except of course every night at 12 midnight – she’s jumped through the TV portal into the world of Red Bull, where all is romance and adventure, and nothing ever really matters.
